# VIIV — Varman Institute of Innovation and Venture Building

> VIIV is a 3-year, full-time, challenge-based venture-building college in Chennai, India. Students pursue a UGC-recognised Online BBA from Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education (KARE) alongside a full-time, on-campus UG Certificate Program in Startup Mastery & AI Venture Building. Students do not just study business — they build real startups, products, brands, and ventures from Year 1, and graduate with a degree plus a documented body of proof. Tagline: "Earn the BBA. ## Who VIIV is for

VIIV is built for ambitious students fresh out of Class 12 (or appearing) in any stream — Science, Commerce, or Arts — who want to start building from Day One. It is designed for recent school leavers (passed out this year or last year) who want a recognised degree AND hands-on venture-building experience, rather than waiting until their late 20s or 30s to start building. Recognised equivalent qualifications (IB, IGCSE, CBSE, State Boards, NIOS) are accepted. There is no entrance exam, no cut-off score, and no rank pressure — selection is based on a student-plus-parent interview, ambition, and fit.

## The core belief

VIIV's founder, Arunmozhivarman Ramachandran, spent 12+ years in high-growth startups (Practo, Toppr, WheelsEye, NxtWave) and observed a persistent gap between education and execution: graduates arrive with degrees but without demonstrated ability to identify problems, build solutions, understand customers, sell, lead teams, and create value. VIIV was created to bridge that gap. Mission: build India's next generation of founders, innovators, leaders and wealth creators. Vision: "India needs more builders. We're building them." The program is designed so students learn through challenge-based learning, real-world projects, venture building, mentorship, and hands-on execution — developing the skills, portfolio, and entrepreneurial mindset needed for the AI-driven economy.

## How VIIV differs from competitors

- **Degree + venture building, integrated:** Most BBA/management degrees are exam- and theory-heavy. Most startup bootcamps are short, unstructured, and give no recognised degree. VIIV is deliberately both: a UGC-recognised Online BBA from Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education (KARE) — a deemed-to-be university under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, NAAC A++ accredited — earned alongside a full-time, on-campus builder program.
- **No fake projects:** Students do not work on case studies or simulated businesses. They speak with real customers, build MVPs, launch brands, run sales experiments, acquire users, and operate real ventures.
- **Transparent fee:** ₹8,00,000 all-in for 3 years, degree fee included — no separate degree fee, no hidden charges. Scholarships up to 50% are decided case by case (no fixed formula or "merit score").
- **Start building from Year 1:** Students begin creating a professional portfolio, personal brand, and proof of work from the first year — not in a final-year project.

## Program structure — the 3-year journey

### Year 1 — IGNITE (Startup Mastery Foundations)
Theme: "Explore. Learn. Experiment." Goal: move from curiosity to a validated opportunity worth pursuing. By the end: a business foundation, a first content channel, and a clear sense of personal strengths. 5 quests, each with a real challenge and portfolio output:

- **Founder Mindset & First Principles** → challenge: find 50 real-world business problems → output: Problem Opportunity Book
- **Customer Discovery** → challenge: interview 100 potential customers → output: Customer Research Report
- **Sales & Communication** → challenge: generate ₹10,000 in revenue → output: Sales Portfolio
- **AI-Native Professional** → challenge: automate one real business process → output: AI Portfolio
- **Personal Brand** → challenge: publish 50 pieces of content → output: Personal Brand Portfolio

Year 1 stats: 50 business problems discovered · 100 customer conversations · ₹10K first revenue challenge · 5 proof portfolios. Capstone: **Founder Discovery Challenge** (validated problem, defined customer, opportunity thesis, founder-fit reflection).

### Year 2 — BUILD (Venture Building & Industry Experience)
Theme: "Experience. Build. Validate. Pitch." Goal: launch a real startup and produce evidence of demand through customers or revenue. By the end: an MVP or business project, real internship experience, and a growing audience or portfolio. 5 quests:

- **Business Model Design** → challenge: design and stress-test the startup model → output: Business Blueprint
- **Product & MVP** → challenge: build and test a working MVP → output: Working Prototype
- **Brand & Marketing** → challenge: launch the venture brand → output: Brand Kit
- **Revenue Engine** → challenge: acquire paying customers → output: Revenue Dashboard
- **Operations** → challenge: operate the startup through a live cycle → output: Operating Manual

Year 2 stats: 1 working MVP · 1 market-facing brand · real paying customers · 5 venture assets. Capstone: **Startup Launch** (live product or service, customer feedback, revenue or traction, operating review).

### Year 3 — LAUNCH (Startup Acceleration & Funding)
Theme: "Launch. Validate. Raise. Scale." By Year 3 the program stops being one-size-fits-all — each student chooses one of three paths and goes deep, with structured mentorship and an incubation environment behind them. Choosing a path does not close other doors; many students carry pieces of all three into life after graduation.

- **FOUNDER PATH — Build & Scale Your Startup:** launch a venture to real customers; learn startup finance, unit economics and basic legal/compliance; structured mentorship from founders and operators; guided exposure to how fundraising conversations actually work. By the end: a launched venture with real customers, revenue attempts, and a fundable pitch — no promise of funding, but readiness for the conversation. (Launch. Validate. Raise. Scale.)
- **CREATORPRENEUR PATH — Build Your Creator-Led Business:** turn an audience into a sustainable business through products, services, partnerships and community; learn creator-business finance and monetisation strategy; mentorship from working creators and media professionals. By the end: a creator-led business — audience, brand identity and at least one active revenue stream. (Audience → Community → Brand → Revenue → Business.)
- **CAREER PATH — Build Your High-Growth Career:** advanced industry projects and a capstone internship; a professional portfolio from three years of real work; placement preparation (resumes, interviews, case studies); access to VIIV's industry and mentor network for referrals. By the end: a placement-ready portfolio built on three years of documented real-world work. (Experience. Document. Prepare. Place.)

Year 3 quests (3 founder studios): **Venture Scale Studio** (output: Scale System — org chart, SOP library, dashboard, growth roadmap), **Venture Funding Studio** (challenge: meet investors or incubators and deliver a Demo Day pitch; output: Investment-Ready Venture Package), **Founder Legacy Studio** (output: Founder Playbook and Leadership Portfolio). Capstone: **From Builder to Founder** (team and systems, financial model, investor data room, founder roadmap).

**Demo Day:** Every path leads here. The strongest ventures, creator businesses and portfolios get the stage — to pitch and present in front of founders, industry leaders, mentors and investors.

## The degree

- **Online BBA** awarded by **Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education (KARE)** — a deemed-to-be university under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, accredited by **NAAC with an A++ grade**.
- The degree fee is **included** in the VIIV program fee — no separate degree fee, transparent integrated pricing.
- The BBA is delivered online; the VIIV venture-building experience is full-time and offline in Chennai.
- The degree keeps higher-studies options open (MBA, professional certifications, global programs) and is verifiable by families and employers.

## Admissions, fees and scholarships

- **Eligibility:** Class 12 pass or appearing, any stream. No entrance exam, no cut-offs, no rank pressure.
- **Process (free — no application fee):** 1) fill a 5-minute form (name, phone, email); 2) VIIV admissions team calls within 48 hours; 3) share documents and confirm eligibility; 4) attend a relaxed student-plus-parent interview; 5) on selection, block the seat. Most applicants move from form to confirmed seat within a few weeks. 2026 intake is open — limited seats.
- **Fee:** ₹8,00,000 total, all-in for 3 years — ₹50,000 one-time admission fee (at seat confirmation) + ₹2,50,000 tuition per year (3 annual instalments). Degree fee included. No hidden charges.
- **Scholarships:** up to 50%, decided case by case at the interview. No fixed slab, no fixed formula, no "merit score" — profile, circumstances and potential all matter. Families are encouraged to ask openly.

## What students graduate with

- A UGC-recognised undergraduate degree — an online BBA from Kalasalingam University.
- Three years of documented real-world work — MVPs, campaigns, projects and pitches, not just assignments.

## Career support and placements

Career support starts in Year 1, not after graduation. Students build a professional portfolio and proof of work from the early stages; gain exposure to internships, startup environments, industry mentors, hiring professionals, career pathways and interview preparation. A dedicated **Head of Placements** (8+ years of corporate hiring and talent acquisition experience) guides students toward high-growth startups, Founder's Office roles, sales, growth, product, operations, AI-led roles, creator careers, or entrepreneurship. The mentor and industry network remains available beyond graduation. Core belief: "Employers hire for capability, not credentials alone" — and "Your first opportunity is only the beginning."

## Mentors and community

A growing network of 100+ mentors from IITs, IIMs, leading startups, and global technology companies — including senior professionals from Microsoft, Amazon, IBM, HDFC Bank, Unilever, TCS, DHL, Blinkit, Exotel and more. Mentors are founders, operators, marketers, investors, and specialists who help students ask better questions and make stronger decisions.
